Food Drive for the Center for the Homeless – 2025

Actions Speak Louder Than Words: How INSERV is Giving Back to Our Community

At INSERV, we believe in taking real, meaningful action to support the uplift the local community. Today, we are proud to share that our annual Food Drive for the Center for the Homeless in South Bend is an overwhelming success.

Actions truly do speak louder than words, and the INSERV team shows up in a big way.

The Center for the Homeless in South Bend

The Center for the Homeless plays an essential role in Saint Joseph County. Operating at 813 S. Michigan Street, the Center is the area’s largest residential facility for individuals, families, and Veterans experiencing homelessness. On any given night, they provide emergency housing and transitional shelter to roughly 40% of our local homeless population—delivering over 73,000 safe bed stays and serving more than 180,000 meals every single year. Beyond basic shelter and dining services, the Center offers personalized coaching, adult education, and comprehensive programs designed to help guests break the cycle of homelessness and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

Providing these critical, life-changing resources takes immense daily support. That is where our team jumps in to help fill the gap.

Bringing Supplies and Hope Together

Throughout our food drive, INSERV employees step up to collect much-needed supplies and direct support for the Center’s daily operations. Thanks to the generosity of our team, we are delivering packed bins full of essential items, including:

  • Daily Essentials: Paper towels, cleaning supplies, and paper goods to keep residential facilities hygienic and running smoothly.
  • Nutritious Staples: High-protein canned goods, coffee, and non-perishable food items to support the Center’s busy Dining Services Program.
  • Direct Support: Gift cards that allow Center staff to purchase urgent items for guests on demand.

Building a stronger, safer community starts with showing up for one another. We are incredibly proud of our INSERV team members for demonstrating what true community commitment looks like. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s drive our best one yet!
